Quick question guys :- My PD is feb 2008 and I140 was approved in july 08.
I also want to call my congessman, can you please tell what are the things you talk to them?
A brief guidance will help many others like me to make a call.

I asked our area congressman to inquire about pending I-140.
Instead, they inquired about pending I-485 and came back with a message saying" Sorry, you have to wait it out since your PD is light years away as compared to current EB3/I processing date"

If you want quick action shoot letters ALL AT THE SAME TIME.... Just decide the name and the address of recipients .... Attach the copy of the rule and write the letter .....
Just make enough noise so that they can not ignore this rule...

Gurus,
We have applied for 485 for four of our family members. Myself (Primary) and two kids got the welcome email on 06/25 and RFE email for my spouse application on 6/26. Haven't recvd any documents in mail to know the reason, but my questions to Gurus is
- How long will it take to get Card Ordered email after Welcome email. We havent recvd the welcome package in mail yet.
- Is there any relation between not getting Card Ordered email and RFE on my sopuse application.
- What could be the potential reason for RFE on my Spouse Application.

Finally, per Ron unused is not same as wasted. Unused is unassigned. Wasted is .... assigned but action is not taken to close the case. If that is the case then wasted visas won't be available ....
So, according to you, what happens when no action is taken for assigned visa number?

Recapture of un-used visas alone can make a huge difference.
Recapture of the unused visas which amounts to 160,000 and the yearly quota of Employment based visas for 2008 will add up to 300,000 visas which would approximately mean 150,000 families getting a Green Card.
Once people get a Green card, they�ll feel secure about their future and start thinking about buying a home and settle down. 10% of this may already have a home. 40% may not have the intention of buying a home due to various reasons. If the remaining 50% decide to buy a home after they get a green card, that amounts to 75,000 homes being taken off the real estate market.
This will not completely remove the housing crisis, but it will definitely ease it a little bit.
Legal immigrants have a very good credit score and the Lenders will be more than happy to offer them loans. At an average home value of $ 200,000, this will amount to Fifteen Billion Dollars which will work along with the President's Economic Stimulus Plan in bringing the nation out of Recession.
My assumptions are very conservative here. Even thought the average price for a home in US is around 200k, most of our guys live in costly places where houses will average around 300k.
We are not offering to USCIS that so many of us will buy a home if we get a greencard. we are just showing them the potential here.

This was the response i got from Ron Gotcher.

To tell you the truth I'm still very worried.
The cited press releases do clearly say that they MAY deny an AOS application. What disturbs me is... why on earth should someone NOT obey the instructions which are clearly laid out on the front pages of the I-485 application forms? Is there a benefit to NOT submitting the employment letter?

Please mention details of your issue since most of members here are either in the labor black hole or under EB retrogression waiting to file for I 485. If you know something and if its WIDESPREAD and affects almost all applicants, please mention it here in details. We can include that in our agenda so that we dont have to fight for those issues when we do file for 485 in the future.

I have great respect for some of the core members i know. They have done lot of work to make this forum successful. But i always think that you can increase participation if you make things more clear and take comments in a positive way.
I am sure many guest members or other frequent visitors to IV website get the impression that there is always a fund drive for something or the other on the IV Website homepage and there is always a target amount which never seems to be met.
I understand that there are expenses to maintain the website etc, but here we are talking about fund drive for lawsuit. Sometimes I wonder what will happen if you can not collect $5000 so will you wait to file a lawsuit until you collect $5000? May it will be too late then. What if you collect only say $4000? How do you decide these arbitrary numbers?
Are you planning for a separate litigation from that of AILF? How will you complement the effort by AILF with money?
Hey, who am I to ask these questions! These are some of the questions on behalf of hundreds of members who need to know more to actively participate to make it a success. There is no reason you should take it in a negative way.

You might want to research your options some more. Maybe, have a talk with someone who is a more senior colleague or mentor, preferably one who has an MBA.
It appears from your comment on investment banking that you haven't done your research. IBs usually recruit only from the top-10 type schools.

there we go again..... becoz visa bulletin dates did no move.... all of a sudden it means uscis/dos is not doing their job?..... get a grip of u'r self.....
my date if 7th feb-05 & its just days away for over an year.... but i know that blaming uscis/dos won't do a shit for anyone..... becoz that's not where the problem is..... now don't throw bullshit at me.... saying uscis is not efficient blah blah blah..... if uscis is allocating 140K gc per year, that's good enough...... becoz its a wrong goal to setup 100% efficiency with uscis..... we all don't work with our employer 100% becoz we spend time scanning the web..... y do we expect uscis to work 100%....... for me uscis is doing their job if they allocate 140k gc per year...... period..... now stop this non-sense of blaming uscis/dos becoz that sets a wrong target..... the blame/fault for vb and backlog lies with the congress..... the least we can do is identify the source of the problem...... we do people here keep beating down on uscis & dos...... y r we do dumb.....

I find FBI security clearnce has been one of the hot issues which is causing many lime me to wait even though our cases are curent. I lost the opportunity some time back, got hit by the retrogression, still waiting for the FBI clearnace. Appreciate if it can be added as one of the hot issues.
